Christmas Joy

“And the angel said ...“I bring you good tidings of great joy ...
for unto you is born ... a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:11 KJV

When the shepherds saw the angel that announced the Savior’s birth
They were frightened by the glory that was shining on the earth,
But the message echoed clearly from the heaven-sent envoy,
“Do not fear because I bring you blessed tidings of great Joy.” There was Joy throughout the heavens when the Son of God was born,
As the cherub chorus chanted Him their accolades that morn,
Joy in God the Father’s bosom as He gazed upon His Son,
Breathing softly in the manger when the birthing was all done.There was Joy within the stable where the holy Baby lay,
As His earthly parents watched Him sleeping sweetly in the hay.
There was Joy among the magi that had sought Him by the star,
As they offered Him the gifts that they had brought Him from afar. And there’s Joy in every person who perceives why Jesus came,
When they find their sins forgiven as they call upon His name.
Joy that spreads among the angels over sinners who repent,
For salvation is the reason that the Son of God was sent. By Bud Morris
