Do You Know My Savior?
My grandfather passed away on December 21, 2013 because of cancer. Throughout his life, and even while lying in his bed at the hospital, he asked the same question to anyone he met: "Do you know my Savior?" Many people responded saying they knew about the Lord Jesus, but Grandpa's question was specific: "Do you know my Savior." Even on his deathbed my grandfather insisted on sharing the love of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with anyone willing to listen.
Today I desire to share the love of my grandfather's Savior with you. In Romans 3:23 we are told that "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (NKJV) and in Romans 6:23 we read: "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." All people have sinned, and this puts us on the road to hell. God doesn't send us to hell, but sin does. He cannot have sin in heaven. However, because of His great love for us He sent His Son to die so that we might live. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." Now it is our choice to make. John 3:36 says, "He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him."
There is only one way to heaven. There is only one way to gain this gift of eternal life. In John 14:6 Jesus tells us, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." Believing that Jesus died for your sins is the only way to get to heaven. It is such a simple thought, yet it has such wonderful rewards. Believing this means that you are a child of God and now have a right to spend eternity in heaven! John 1:12 says, "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name."
It was my grandfather's desire, and it is now mine, that you would know my Savior. It is such an important decision and one that will change your life. Do You Know My Savior? We can tell you how.
