The King In His Beauty
The King In His BeautyYour eyes will see the King in His beauty;
They will see the land that is very far off.
Isaiah 33:17
Thrice-holy God we humbly dare To enter through the veil For He has gone to glory where A welcome never fails. Our spirits rise in raptured flight To tread eternal courts of light.
How bright that radiant One and fair Enwreathed with anadems, How nobly does that crowned Head wear The many diadems, As angels cast their crowns before The dazzling feet of Christ the Lord!
But who can nobler paeans raise Than those He came to save, Or who know more ecstatic praise Than those whom He forgave? Who loves the Bridegroom like the Bride For whom the Lord was crucified?
What clouds of glory bright adorn His manly loveliness! More beautiful than rosy dawn The Sun of Righteousness Outshines the massed, cherubic bands With flaming swords in weaponed hands.
Clear as the noonday firmament His crystal aspect shines, His face of light magnificent Is kindly and benign. He waits His healing wings to spread Around the saints for whom He bled.
He sits enthroned in steadfast power In majesty serene, While peace as in the sunset hour Pervades the saintly scene. His scepter raised in loving grace He welcomes those who seek His face.
Then let us haste to keep the feast In grateful memory, Of Him whose ardor never ceased Though proved at Calvary. Rise then and bless the One who died Until He comes to claim His bride!By Tom SummerhillWho is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts,
He is the King of glory. Selah.
