The subtitle of this well-researched book is “A Quest For Truth,” and that’s exactly what readers experience as they follow the author’s step-by-step journey of discovery which begins with a chapter entitled “Within Reason.” In it he points out that God Himself invites us to “Come now, and let us reason together” (Isa. 1:18 NKJV ) to discover Him. And He assures us that “You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart” (Jer. 29:13). The second chapter, “Have You Lost Your Mind?” challenges those skeptics who characterize Christians as “brainless zombies.” With clearly presented evidence he questions the logic of both atheism and agnosticism, and concludes that “it is illogical to state that there is no God.”
After these introductory chapters, the search for God enters into an enlightening examination of the uniqueness of the earth and the testimony of nature, including physics, chemistry, the fossil record, astronomy, biology, anthropology and the fact that nature demands a Creator. There are also chapters related to the Bible itself – its authenticity, uniformity and proof of inspiration – and those associated with aspects of humanity – such as conscience, need, miracles and changed lives. The author also includes six informative appendices covering such topics as biblical metaphors, prophecies and Christ’s miracles to further aid in one’s search for God.
This book will help all readers in their quest for the truth that reveals God, and Christian readers in their desire to become better defenders of the faith.
