He Is Special

He Is Special
As little children we may have thought our dads or the men who were father figures to us could do anything. Being older, we know such ideas are not true, but those who were fathers to us, having guided us in a right way, have a special place in our hearts and minds.
Only God, who is all-knowing, all-powerful and everywhere-present – the meanings of omniscience, omnipotence and omnipresence – can do all things. These three characteristics belong to God alone and were in full display in Him who revealed God to us all: the Lord Jesus.
In coming to know Him we own the fact that we could do nothing for our salvation. On the cross, Jesus bore our sins and their judgment, having willingly offered Himself to God (1 Pet. 2:22-24; Eph. 5:2). By doing so, He fully satisfied God as to the sins of everyone who believes (Heb. 2:17, 9:28; Jn. 3:16). Growing “in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Pet. 3:18 NKJV), we come to realize that He, being God, can meet our every need, fear and concern in this world (Phil. 4:19; Heb. 13:6; 1 Pet. 5:7). At the appointed time we will be taken from this scene and be ushered into the very presence of our Lord (Phil 1:23; 1 Th. 4:16-17). When with Him we will see even more of His ability to do all things, for now we only “know in part” (1 Cor. 13:12). There is much more to enjoy about Him and His love (Gal. 2:20; Eph. 3:19; see 1 Jn. 4:8). What a time of rejoicing that will be – not because we are no longer here but by virtue of being with Him (Jn. 14:3; Ps. 16:11). Oh, how great are the blessings and privileges of knowing Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord!
God has planned things so that “in all things He [His Son] may have the preeminence” (Col. 1:18). The Lord Jesus Christ, who has been exalted by God (Acts 2:33, 5:31; Phil 2:9), should have the highest place in our hearts and minds. While we know this, it may not always show in our lives from day to day. We pray that the articles this month will be used of the Lord to point out to us afresh how special He is, that He will have His rightful place in our lives even at this time.
Put your trust in the Lord Jesus now if you haven’t already. That door may close soon, and then it will be forever too late! “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved” (Acts 16:31). We can tell you how.
