My True Sinful Past
My True Sinful Past
“Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.” 1 Timothy 1:15
This was me: blasphemer, proud, hypocrite, insincere, dishonest, unholy, liar, disrespectful, thief, mocker, glutton, wretched, disgusting, dabbled in occult, murderous anger, hatred, bitterness, unforgiving, racist, fornicator, fraudulent cheater, disobedient to God and parents, rebellious, envious, drunken reveler, star gazer, palm reader, idolater, covetous, critical, cursing, swearing, backbiting, gossiping, foolish, and more.
For such a wicked person, Jesus died and washed me in His blood, to present me faultless in His righteousness before the throne of God. Jesus has forgiven me. What He has done and is doing for me, He can do for you.
You may not have sinned as much as I have. Or you may have sinned more. Whether you are educated or not, rich or poor, sexually immoral, murderer, any miserable thing – even the unloved, lonely scum of the world – come to the Savior. Neither wealth, beauty nor intelligence; neither your country, culture, nor sincerest good works – nothing can save your soul except Jesus and His accomplished work on the cross.
Come as you are! Make this your prayer: “Father, I need all of Jesus and nothing of myself!” This is my prayer too. Stay at the foot of the cross all your life. Fellowship with God daily – in the Bible, in prayer and in a good, Bible-teaching church. Follow Jesus and He will take you home to heaven when you die. I look forward to seeing you there.
But I want to warn you: If you reject Christ, you will have chosen damnation for yourself – endless torment in the flames of hell! The best candidates for hell are those who think they’ve never sinned.
