Strength In Weakness“And He said unto me, ‘My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in weakness.’ Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.”
2 Corinthians 12:9-10 KJV
Amen, Lord.
O Lord, the path has often seemed both steep and rough,
My burdens heavy, not at all what I had planned.
Yet, all the way Thy grace to me has been enough.
Amen, Lord, even though I do not understand.
Amen, when my intense requests Thou dost deny,
Though in Thy Word Thou dost encourage to be bold.
For this, too, plenteous grace and strength Thou wilt supply.
Amen to all Thou dost in love from me withhold.
Amen, when trials sore my daily lot shall be,
While others find deliverance from pain and woe.
I to Thy cross shall cling, offended not in Thee,
Most “blessed” Lord, Thy sufferings’ fellowship to know.
Amen, when from my side Thou choosest to remove
One loved as part of me, earth’s comfort and its joy,
Since Thou remainest, source of endless grace to prove.
Henceforth, let pleasing Thee alone my life employ!
Amen, Lord.By Carolyn E. Gibb
