The Veil Is Rent
The Veil Is Rent
“The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest” (Hebrews 9:8).
“And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom” (Mark 15:38).
“Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which He hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, His flesh” (Hebrews 10:19-20).
Only the high priest could go into the most holy place. He went only once a year, and not without sacrificial blood. The way to God was barred to all except one whose life depended on the blood he carried in.
When Christ finished His work on the cross, the veil to that place, which was really a very sturdy curtain, was torn in two, starting from the top, thus signifying that the way to God was now open.
But who would dare enter in? Do we truly believe that Christ died on our behalf? Then not only may we dare to enter in, but to enter in boldly by the blood of Jesus. The new and living way into the holiest place in heaven was through the veil of His flesh.
The way to God is now open, and all who are willing to repent and believe Him are welcome to enter in.

The veil is rent: Lo! Jesus stands before the throne of grace; And clouds of incense from His hands fill all that glorious place. His precious blood is sprinkled there, before and on the throne; And His own wounds in heaven declare the work that saves is done.By James G. Deck (1807-1884)
