“Neither”
“I cannot understand why a man who has tried to lead a good, moral life should not stand a better chance of going to heaven than a wicked one,” said a lady in a conversation with others about the matter of salvation.
“Simply for this reason,” someone answered. “Suppose you and I wanted to go into a place of interest where the admission was $30. You have $20 and I have nothing. Who would stand a better chance of being admitted?”
“Neither,” was her reply.
“You are right. The Bible tells us that the moral man stands no better chance of going to heaven than the out-and-out sinner. But suppose a kind and wealthy friend who saw our predicament presented a ticket of admission to each of us at his own expense. What then?”
“Well, then we could both go in alike.”
“Jesus Christ, the Savior, came and died almost 2,000 years ago to obtain eternal salvation for us. Now He offers you and me a free ticket to heaven. Just make sure that your $20 does not make you proud enough to refuse the free ticket and be refused admittance!”
There is a time of reckoning coming for everyone. Do you have a ticket of admission to heaven?
