Awake My Soul!

Awake my soul and sing of Him, Who loved thee unto death, Awake my heart, compose a hymn, My lips declare His worth.
I’m welling forth, my heart o’erflows, My praise to Him I bring, My theme shall be, in hymn or prose, The beauties of the King.
Fairer than all the sons of men, In majesty supreme, His glories shall forever shine, Whom men did not esteem.
Upon His lips was poured all grace, Who righteousness has loved, Behold the beauty of His face, The Son of God beloved. The scepter of God’s righteousness, Thou holdest in Thy hand, Thy throne, O God, forever is, “Thou Savior of mankind.”
O that upon Him I may gaze And never turn away, Then joy and gladness and amaze, Shall follow all the way.
Great is that mystery indeed, That brought Him to this earth. Magnificent in word and deed, God only knew His worth.By Anise Behnam
