Where Are Our Sins?
Where Are Our Sins?
Where are our sins? The prophet Isaiah wrote this about them: “Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool” (Isa. 1:18 KJV ). The psalmist David wrote this: “As far as the east is from the west, so far hath He removed our transgressions from us” (Ps. 103:12). Micah prophesied this: “Thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea” (Mic. 7:19). And the writer of Hebrews quoted the prophet Jeremiah (31:34) when he wrote, “And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more” (Heb. 10:17).
These verses show a wonderful progression of what has happened to our sins, iniquities, and transgressions. First the Lord cleansed them, then He removed them, then He buried them, and now He remembers them no more. It was at the cross that the precious blood of Christ washed us clean. It was at the cross where the burden was removed from us, and was placed on Him who endured the crushing depths of the judgment of God. It was there that God remembered our sin, but now remembers it no more.
