10 Reasons Why I Never Wash
Here are the reasons:
- I was forced to wash as a child.
- I used to wash, but it took much time and was boring.
- People who wash think they are cleaner than others.
- The sink is always occupied.
- There are so many different brands of soap, I cannot decide which one is right.
- Soap makers are only after your money.
- My peers and friends never wash.
- When I get older and somewhat dirtier, I might begin washing.
- I sometimes wash on my birthday, or Christmas and Easter.
- I am too busy to wash.
But We All Need To Wash!
No matter how many excuses we can find, we all need to wash – and we know it!
Not only do we need to wash our bodies, we have a soul and spirit that need cleansing – something soap and water can never do! God tells us in His Word, “There is none righteous, no, not one ... For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Rom. 3:10,23 NKJV).
God can make us spotlessly clean on the inside, for this Bible tells us, “The blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin” (1 Jn. 1:7). There is only one Savior who died for dirty sinners, so the decision is simple. Whether young or old, we need our sins washed away.
Washing with soap and water may seem like a waste of time, but once we realize that we are filthy and vile, inwardly stained and soiled by sin, we can turn in repentance to God and avail ourselves of the soul cleansing flood which flowed from His beloved Son on Calvary’s cross! “God ... commands all men everywhere to repent, because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man [Christ Jesus] whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead” (Acts 17:30-31).
Once we are washed and cleansed from our sins and iniquities, we realize how exciting it is to be clean and absolutely pure in God’s sight.
We do not have to wait for some special day in our lives or worry about what our peers and friends might say. Rather, we need to take time right now to plunge in and lose all our guilty stains in the precious blood of Christ, “knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot” (1 Pet. 1:18-19).
If you have never been cleansed from your sins, don’t wait until you are older. Trust Christ and His finished work right now! We can tell you how.
