Can a true Christian lose his salvation? That is a very important question, a question to which the Bible gives a clear answer. For Jesus Christ himself said, "I give them eternal life, and they will never perish."

Eternal life is a gift of God's grace, completely undeserved, a gift that we receive at our conversion with the new birth. And that's why Paul says in Ephesians chapter 2:8, "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of work, so that no one may boast."

And this also becomes very clear at the end of Romans 8. There, Paul explains that it is God who has predestined us, it is God who has called us, he has justified us, and he has even glorified us. And finally, he says that there is nothing and no one who can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ.

God does not undo the new birth. If you are a child of God, then God remains your father for time and eternity.
